World Aviation Group launches Waste Management Initiative
World Aviation Group launched a waste management initiative to encourage its workforce to seperate waste at source and foster a positive attitude towards recycling. Parallel to this, WAG has been in consultation with its local community neighbors of Luqa for a joint initiative to apply for a set of bring-in sites in the vicinity of WAG Head Office in Luqa.
"A little effort makes a big difference" was the main message leading this initiative. An educational training program was specifically formulated and delivered to the internal stakeholders. During this training the main processes were highlighted and discussed together with a number of do's and dont's that have to be followed when depositing waste into the seperate bins. In this context, WAG also had several discussions with the Mayor of Luqa, Mr. John Schembri and the General Executive Secretary, Mr. Michael Borg with the aim to launch joint community activities including amongst others the formal request for a set of bring-in sites to be located in the suburbs of Luqa, close to WAG Head Offices. WAG is committed to be at the forefront in the local community by endorsing a strong corporate responsibility to the community environment.
