April 2010 - Etihad Airways increases flights to Australia

Etihad Airways increases flights to Australia

Etihad Airways is planning to ramp up services to the NSW capital to a twice daily service after the carrier was last month granted approval by the Australian Govt to lift capacity. The move follows the recently completed bilateral negotiations between the UAE and Australia which saw EY granted the right to operate up to 14 more weekly services to major Australian ports.

Earlier this month Etihad and Qantas expanded their codeshare pact to include flights between Sydney and Melbourne, Canberra, Ayers Rock, Alice Springs and Hobart. Etihad Airways currently operates 11 times a week between Abu Dhabi-Sydney, with connectivity out of Malta mounting to over 12 weekly flights to Sydney & 26 weekly flights to Melbourne through an array of European gateways with fares starting at 850Euros.

Etihad Airways has been represented in Malta by Aviation Online, for a little less than a year, connecting Malta to Etihad’s current network of over 55 destinations worldwide with amazing fares and great connections all year round.
